Recognition highlights the Korean enterprise AI specialist’s domestic patent portfolio and formal employee invention compensation framework

SEOUL, South Korea — SURROMIND Inc. (CEO Hayoung Jang), a South Korean enterprise artificial intelligence (AI) company, announced that it has earned the South Korean government’s official certification as an Excellent Employee Invention Compensation Company.

The certification program is administered by South Korea’s Ministry of Intellectual Property (MOIP) and the Korea Invention Promotion Association (KIPA). MOIP is the central government authority responsible for national intellectual property policy, while KIPA is a public organization dedicated to promoting invention and intellectual property utilization in Korea.

Under the program, small and mid-sized companies undergo a comprehensive assessment of their employee invention compensation regulations, actual compensation records, and compliance with established procedures.

The certification recognizes SURROMIND’s efforts to establish a formal system for rewarding employee inventions and turning R&D outcomes into protected proprietary technology. It also reflects the company’s broader efforts to build technology assets through intellectual property within South Korea’s enterprise AI market.

SURROMIND supports enterprise AI transformation through AI technologies and solutions. Its core portfolio spans enterprise AI agents, AI-powered engineering drawing intelligence, and Physical AI. These technologies are designed for deployment across real-world manufacturing and enterprise operations.

SURROMIND has filed 31 patent applications in South Korea to date, with 12 patents granted. The company operates a formal employee invention compensation framework to reward R&D achievements and secure strategically important technologies as long-term corporate assets.

Building on the certification, SURROMIND plans to further strengthen its R&D compensation framework. The company will encourage more employee inventions, expand patent protection for its core AI technologies, and continue advancing its technology assets.

“Sustained technological innovation requires a system that fairly recognizes and rewards the ideas and contributions of researchers,” said Hayoung Jang, CEO of SURROMIND. “We will continue turning our R&D achievements into lasting technology assets and developing them into technologies that can be applied in real industrial environments.”
